When it comes to Korean denim, it’s no doubt the 2010’s were the decade of the skinny jean. Now, as we enter 2020, we’re seeing a resurgence of denim with wider legs, smaller waists, and straight/relaxed styles. Whether you call them “mom jeans”, “boyfriend jeans”, or anything else, relaxed and straight fit jeans have made their mark in the K-fashion world.
As the Korean fashion authority, we at the K-Blog are fully on board for this trend. Here, our top reasons why straight and relaxed-fit jeans are the ultimate fashion staple:
1. They’re oh, so comfortable
Who doesn’t love a comfortable pair of jeans? The wide-legged factor of straight and relaxed fit jeans makes them super comfy and perfect for everyday outfits.
Loose fit jeans — no matter if they’re straight or relaxed fits — are ultra-flattering on anyone regardless of body type, gender, or personal style. The fitted waist and long leg effect make you look taller, sleeker, and like any outfit you wear is put together.
The good news? There’s a 99.99% chance you already have denim in your closet, so wearing Classic Blue is a breeze. The even better news? There are tons of awesome new Classic Blue denim styles in relaxed and straight fits that are comfy, trendy, and give your wardrobe a total refresher.
A Classic Blue shirt or blouse is probably the most versatile piece in your closet. A solid-colored blouse is ultra-sleek, chic, and professional, while a blue plaid shirt gives a laid-back and casual aesthetic that’s perfect for everyday.
No one does cozy & trendy like K-fashion brands. We love seeing what top Korean fashion brands like Chuu, Basic House, and Mind Bridge bring out for the colder months and the Korean winter fashion trends that will define not only the season, but our wardrobes as well.
Korean style hoodies and sweatshirts are always in fashion for their versatility and unique designs. Winter 2019’s version combines muted hues with simple patterns and graphics for a minimalistic, understated look.
BASIC HOUSE’s selection of trendy Korean sweaters is the perfect addition to any winter wardrobe. Even better? Their range of sweaters and trendy hoodies are unisex, meaning anyone can find their ideal style with ease.
Turtlenecks have always been a winter essential, but Chuu has taken it to the next level with their unique neck shapes.
From cut-out cold shoulder sweaters to wide-neck turtlenecks in the fluffiest of knits, Chuu’s selection of cute turtleneck, crewneck, and mock neck sweaters for winter 2019 are guaranteed to make you look chic while keeping warm. Pair them with your favorite pair of Chuu 5KG Jeans for a sleek and casual moment or a miniskirt for a preppy vibe.
2019 Korean winter fashion is all about looking effortlessly put together; that’s why Seoul’s most stylish are loving outerwear by Mind Bridge. The men’s, women’s, and unisex brand has great options for those looking to invest in a piece that’s not only trendy, but timeless.
From double cleansing to calming treatments to sheet masks, it looks like beauty-conscious Korean women have all the right tips and tools to get flawless skin. Here are three of our all-time favorite Korean skincare tips that you need to hear!
1. Double Cleansing
In Korea, the first step in any skincare routine asks for two products: an oil-based cleanser that removes impurities, followed by a water-based one that washes away any trace of oil. Extra tip: always choose gentle alcohol-free cleansers that do not dry out the skin.
A winner among Korean beauty products, essence is key in keeping your skin plump and moisturized throughout the day. Use it after your toner and before your serum by simply placing it in the palm of your hands and patting it onto your face. Extra tip: to give your skin a quick boost when you are on the go, always keep a hydrating mist such as the 7 Days Vitamin Mist, for extra moisture. Made with soothing mineral water and precious fruit and vegetable extract, it is packed with vitamins and anti-oxidants to replenish skin and strengthen its defense system. Great for all skin types!
3. Sheet Masks
Korean skincare is leading in the sheet mask department. Infused with potent ingredients, these are the tailor-made versions of face serums, and can be used whenever your skin needs a boost. Extra tip: The7 Days Mask Set is our go-to Korean beauty product for Insta-ready skin. Made with 100% natural ingredients (green tea, pomegranate and aloe, just to name a few), these paraben-free masks hydrates, calms, brightens and repairs the skin, reducing inflammation and giving your skin a radiant glow. Remember to always pat the leftover mask essence over your face and neck since every drop is precious.

Korean beauty trends are dominating the world of skin care and makeup in 2018. In a stark contrast to the heavily contoured faces in Hollywood, South Korea is bringing their freshest faces forward. A hallmark of Korean beauty trends is a dewy, natural look. Korean skincare standards are second to none and these looks showcase natural beauty instead of covering it up. Korean cosmetics are simple, sophisticated and aim for youthful, glowing skin.
From soft colors to thin eyeliner, here are some of our favorite Korean-inspired beauty looks to try.
First and foremost, Korean beauty is all about taking care of your skin. In order to achieve the bare-faced refinement and grace of Korean beauty idols, a great skincare regimen reigns supreme. Korean skincare products offer unparalleled results; they are super hydrating, anti-aging and protect the delicate skin of the face. Keep your bare skin looking its best with the Miracle Marine Collagen Set by Ischia. This set offers pure and proven natural ingredients, it has unsurpassed quality and is perfect for even the most sensitive skin. Collagen is your best ally for keeping a youthful glow and is the basis for glowing skin and anti-aging. In order to keep your face moisturized and dewy, try the Brilliant Tone-Up by E.G.G. This multitasking product restores your skin’s natural balance, fights blemishes, and reverses skin damage for fresh and full-of-life skin. Korean skincare products include oil cleansers, toners, and sheet masks all for exquisite skin and the basis for Korean beauty.
Dewy, Natural Skin
Korean beauty standards set dewy skin as the new natural look. Thanks to the Korean skincare regimen that keeps skin fresh and supple, this step is paramount to Korean makeup trends. Youthful, rosy, and bright skin is the aim for Korean cosmetic brands. In order to achieve this look, minimal effort is needed with Ariul’s Aqua Blast Clearing Toner. Simply wet your beauty sponge with the toner prior to applying your foundation or place in a spray bottle and give a refreshing spritz on top of your makeup.
Natural, Yet Defined Eyebrows
One of the best Korean makeup products to try is the Eyebrow Maker Powder Pen by Ssanai. For use by both women and men this convenient pen creates natural looking brows in one easy step. Follow your natural brow shape and create a more polished look by filling in any sparse areas. One of the most popular Korean beauty trends is to create straight, arch-free brows for a sweet and youthful look.
If you aren’t familiar with this Korean makeup trend, it’s simply the opposite of the popular cat-eye! The tops of the eyes are thinly lined at the lash line and the tip of the liner draws slightly downward to create round, full eyes.
A Soft Glow
Korean beauty is all about staying natural. Keep colors light and neutral, like pale pink gloss and soft peach blush. The goal is to keep the colors as natural and close to the colors of the skin as possible. Dust a subtle shimmer on your cheekbones and cupid’s bow for a romantic glow.
Try a Pop of Color
Although the key is to stay natural-looking, glamourous orange and red lips are popular with Korean makeup. Usually you will notice pink-tinted gradient lips, but if you wish to try a more dramatic look, you can try Korean-inspired orange lips and bright orange blush. When you’re in the mood for bold color try a vibrant blue or purple eyeshadow paired with a pale pink gloss to give your outfit an unexpected pop of fun color.
Let’s be honest for a moment: most of your workwear doesn’t exactly conveysmart casual. The good news is that looking stylish at work is possible(no side-eye from HR, we promise),so here are tips to help your work wardrobe look professional, modern, and sharp.
As long as they aresmall and paired accordingly, blooms are welcome in the office (and you will find plenty of them on our Korean clothing website. Balance a whimsical floral print with under-the-kneeskirts, cigarette pants, cardigans in solid colors, or opaque tights. Do you find anything boring about a tailored blazer layered over a floral print dress, or a neutral turtleneck matched with a floral print pencil skirt? We don’t.
Modest, neutral colors can become dull when worn on repeat, and although we love black, navy, gray and taupe, we believe bold huescan bring new life into workwear instantly. Channel a fierce cobalt blue skirt with a white shirt, or a pair of fire red pants with a grey sweater for extra fashion points, and punch things up with a green dress and a navy blazer.
Lines are perfect for the office as long as you stick to a subdued palette (check the stripy pieces our amazing Korean clothes brands have to offer. Vertical stripes are our all-time favoritebecause they discretely add the extra inch to any silhouette, and look clean and crisp with solid colors. Tip: banker stripes are a must right now.
No matter how ordinary your outfit may look, you can always revamp it with a statement Korean fashion accessory, such as an interesting timepiece, a show-stopping pair of shoes, an It bag, or attention-grabbing jewelry. The best part is that you can find new accessories at any budget to nail this style trick.
Feeling confident and attractive in your work attire is part of achieving professional success. Remember, in addition to beingjudged by your skills, looks and dress make a favourable first impression. “Dressing well is a form of good manners”- Tom Ford, so take your cues from our Korean clothes store and upgrade your on-the-clock styleperfectly. www.KOODING.com.
Every New Year it is Korean Tradition to bow to your elders before getting a blessing for the year to come. This tradition is often accompanied by traditional Korean clothing known as a Hanbok (한복). Hanboks are often created with vibrant colors and simple lining and they were often worn during traditional festivals and celebrations during the Joseon period of Korean History.
In order to ring in the New Year and remember our Korean heritage, our team selected these two items to start off 2018. This modern day Hanbok brings a new twist to the original that we all love and admire! It can be worn for any special occasion or worn separately for a modern feel.
Speaking of accessories, earrings are a huge plus for any outfit! It can make a look preppy, chic, or minimal depending on the piece you choose to wear! This Peal Earring is subtle enough to not draw too much attention away from your clothes while still being loud enough for people to notice!
