Not to brag, but we pride ourselves on having an awesome Modern Hanbok collection. Every day, we scour South Korea and Korean brands for pieces that are not only traditional in silhouette and shape, but are also representative of global fashion trends. From high-end designers to more affordable options for both men and women, there’s a Hanbok or hanbok-inspired piece waiting to be a part of your everyday wardrobe.
As we approach the Lunar New Year, we’re discussing our favorite Modern Hanbok pieces that you can wear after the festivities are over:
Winter essential, anyone? These pieces are lifelong investments you’ll want to keep in your closet forever. Sleek and elegant, LEESLE’s gorgeous wool coats bring a sense of upscale fashion to any outfit.
Hanbok, But Make It Denim
Not only are the Sapok Traditional Denim Pants extremely comfortable and chic, but they can also be dressed up or down. These unisex denim pants come with a distressed detail, making them ideal for casual days or Sunday brunches. You can even pair them with a graphic tee for an edgy aesthetic, making them extremely versatile for everyday.
LEESLE‘s Classic Black Maru Pants are awesome because they’re made of flowing, comfortable material that can easily replace slacks or leggings in any casual outfit. They can also be dressed up for formal events because they’re tailored and sleek. The best part about these pants is that they’re unisex, making them perfect for an adorable couple’s #OOTD.
Hanbok Or Skater Dress?
S-Hanbok‘s Hanbok dresses are awesome because they have a circle skirt effect that totally mimics the effect of a minidress — just pair ’em with your favorite pair of sneakers and you have a simple and cute outfit!

It’s no surprise that BLACKPINK Jennie is already a bonafide style icon. Nicknamed the “Human Gucci”, Jennie is best known for her trendsetting style and unique fashion sense. Her resume is no joke: in just 7 short years, Jennie has already snagged multiple brand collabs with high-end fashion and beauty brands, selling out every product she’s featured with. Currently, she’s a brand ambassador for CHANEL Korea and spokesmodel for Amore Pacific, both of which have dubbed her as an image of luxury and fashion.
With over 20 million followers on Instagram, Jennie’s outfits are a constant source of inspiration for her fans. She’s also known for having airport fashion that manages to be casual yet elegant, rocking everything from baggy pants and graphic tees to crop tops and trendy coats. She takes complete charge of her look, too; whether she’s going solo or working with supergroup BLACKPINK, Jennie assists in the styling of her outfits.
Here, we dish on how you can snag iconic BLACKPINK Jennie outfits for less:
Is there anything more iconic than 180722 Jennie? Donning a baby blue 90’s CHANEL crop top and baggy black pants, this airport look is proof that you can be both comfy and glamorous.
Unfortunately, Jennie’s CHANEL crop is not only extremely hard to find, but averages around $400. Fortunately, however, the Piece Of Cheese Crop Top by icecream12 gives the same vibe at just $13.99. Pair it with black baggy pants (we recommend these by NDenim) and you’re good to go.
3. The Tweed Look
In an outfit that screams CHANEL, Jennie is draped in a beautiful tweed dress with frill accents. Layered with a black crop top, this look is classy and timeless.
With CHANEL dresses averaging thousands of dollars, achieving this look may seem impossible. Thankfully, the Tweed Girl Dress by Fiona is almost an exact dupe. Completing the outfit is easy: simply pair with a black turtleneck (we recommend the Long Turtleneck Ribbed Tee by Chuu) and the world’s your runway.

TIAG is all about casual menswear that never goes over-the-top.
What makes this brand so popular in Korea? The fact that it has something for everyone. NANING9 is a brand that prides itself on blending flattering silhouettes, trending colors, and interesting patterns for an outfit that stands out while maintaining an everyday appeal.
Above all, NANING9 prides comfort over everything; their ultra-soft fabrics and looser fits ensure you’ll never face a piece you can’t wear cozily.
Trendy, masculine, and classic describe REDHOMME‘s collection. This brand exemplifies cool Korean menswear by keeping their pieces subtle, powerful, and clean.

Korean fashion is constantly updating itself with new trends and styles. Despite this ever-changing landscape, turtlenecks are the most versatile piece in every K-fashion lover’s closet. Here, we’re bringing you the top 3 reasons why you should add a turtleneck to your cart:
They’re A Skirt’s Best Friend
From iconic K-pop girl group looks to the streets of Seoul, is there a more popular Korean women’s fashion item than the miniskirt? Available in any color, pattern, and fabric, it goes with everything and can be paired with nearly anything depending on your mood. Try pairing it with a turtleneck for an adorably youthful and girly look.
If you’re finding miniskirts to be too revealing or show too much skin, a turtleneck is a perfect solution. The full coverage up top helps contrast the amount of skin shown so you can feel comfortable.
Patterned turtlenecks — like stripes — bring even more attention up top.
They Dress Up Any Casual Look
Yes, even the most chill of dressers can rock a turtleneck effortlessly. If you’re a tee-and-jeans type of person, wearing a turtleneck can elevate your look for any occasion.
Want to take the look to the next level? Turtlenecks with unique necklines bring more pizzazz to your look without any additional effort.
They’re Perfect For Layering
Whether you choose to dress modestly or simply can’t stop wearing your summertime faves, layering a turtleneck underneath nearly anything is the perfect way to stay warm, covered, and stylish. Pair a brightly-colored turtleneck under a dark-colored dress (like cherrykoko’s Modern Vent Dress) for cool contrast or a dark, skintight turtleneck (like chuu’s Good Feeling Tee Shirt Vol 3) under a tailored blazer for a super chic, upscale vibe.
How do you feel about this cold-weather staple? Do you wear turtlenecks often or do you have reservations? Let us know!

BASIC HOUSE’s selection of trendy Korean sweaters is the perfect addition to any winter wardrobe. Even better? Their range of sweaters and trendy hoodies are unisex, meaning anyone can find their ideal style with ease.

As much as we love Halloween costumes, there is nothing better than a DIY costume that you can pull straight from your closet. Not only is it more cost-effective to wear a Halloween costume from things you already own, but it also lets you create a costume that’s perfectly you.
With just a few hair, makeup, and accessory changes, these five everyday dresses can transform from day to Halloween night:
An edgy twist to the classic wrap dress, this frock is embellished with a simple silver buckle for maximum versatility. Even better, this dress can layer over any garment of your choosing, making it super easy to change up your look no matter the time of year.
Is there a costume more classic than Wednesday Addams, the queen of Halloween herself? A black dress with a white collar will always be reminiscent of the spooky icon, but this number by chuu can also transfer into the rest of the year as an easy way to look elegant, classy, and chic.
No matter what time of year, this top and skirt set is an adorable and easy going casual look. During the Halloween season, though, this set gives off total Beetlejuice vibes thanks to the neon green stripes. A pair of classic black sneakers and thigh high socks creates a punky aesthetic that looks cute and chic year round.
What’s your Halloween costume this year? Are you buying it, going full on DIY, or a little bit of both? Let us know in the comments!

What’s prettier than this glowing sunset? We love how she paired basic black booties with the look for a dressed-up touch!

How fast did the Autumn season hit you? With summertime seeming like an eternity, it’s no surprise that most of us have yet to prepare our fall wardrobes. Worry not: KOODING’s roundup of Fall 2019 fashion trends will have you – and your closet – ready and fashion-forward in no time.
Like it or not, leopard print’s comeback is STRONG. Nearly every Korean fashion brand and designer is utilizing the iconic print in a variety of colors, silhouettes, and styles. While not a brand new concept, leopard print has been experiencing a serious rebirth in the fashion world.
Leopard print is a foolproof way to implement a touch of boldness without leaving your comfort zone.
The best part? Leopard can easily transition as a neutral, making it easy to style with any color of your choosing. We prefer the classic black pairing, as shown by JSTYLE, OPEN THE DOOR, and MOCOBLING.
Plaid is a classic print that can be worn year-round but holds a special place in our hearts during fall. It reminds us of the coziness of flannels and the edgy vibe of punk and goth-inspired outfits, two of the season’s biggest fashion mainstays.
Mind Bridge has a huge selection of plaid blazers that transition perfectly from day to night.
While miniskirts will never truly go out of style, Fall 2019 fashion trends have been fully embracing longer skirt lengths. Whether it’s your favorite content creator, celebrity, or fashion icon, everyone has been seen rocking the midi skirt from bold prints and fabrics (as seen on NANING9) to the subtlest of neutral hues featured in Mind Bridge’s latest collections.
Midi-length skirts are also an amazing transitional piece because they can be worn as the weather cools down from the warm summer months. They also look great with sneakers, boots, and any other footwear you want to pair with them for a totally versatile look.

Q: What influences your fashion style most?
SA: My mood influences my fashion style the most. My style is very diverse and I definitely do not stick to one specific style or type of clothing. Depending on how I’m feeling, I’ll go for edgy, cute, or a classy look.
Q: What is your favorite item in your closet and why?
SA: My current favorite item in my closet is my brown leather backpack. Backpacks are an accessory that I do not normally gravitate towards but I’ve been digging the way it looks with my outfits lately.
Q: What is the best fashion investment you’ve ever made?
SA: I recently purchased a white clothing rack and it has honestly been so helpful when planning my outfits ahead of time. Would 100% recommend anyone to get a good quality rack for themselves!
Q: What inspired you to become an influencer
SA: One of my best friends is a blogger and suggested I start an Instagram account. I decided to give it a shot and I really enjoyed it. I love sharing my outfits and lifestyle with my followers and it’s truly motivating that I can be an inspiration and create an impact for others as well!

Swiss Line – Watershock Purifying Toner

Tony Moly – Master Lab Real Mask Sheets (Intensive Hydrating or Vitamin C Brightening)

Q: What is your makeup routine
SA: 1. Shiseido – Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector Broad Spectrum SPF 42 For Face

SA: I love the hustle of the city and the diverse people. You can really see that the people in Toronto are determined and working hard to reach their goals. The city inspires me to keep pushing and live a fast-paced life.
Q: Where are your go to hang out spots, eats, and cafes in Toronto?
SA: Currently, I am loving Lavelle and Constantine to brunch. My go to restaurants are Little Piggy for some quality K-BBQ and KAKA for good sushi. But, my absolute favorite place to hang and eat is Kensington Market. Here you’ll find the most delicious eats for cheap and is probably one of the most unique and fun spots in Toronto. Some of my favorite restaurants in Kensington Market are Rasta Pasta for the best Jamaican food and Seven Lives for the tastiest fish tacos!
Q: Where are your favorite travel destinations and why (both in the states and other countries)?
SA: For the States, I recently traveled to LA for the first time and fell in love with the city. It’s a mix of the hustle from Toronto and chill, laid-back vibes. I still can’t decide if I like Toronto or LA better though! For Europe, my favorite destinations are Rome and Venice, Italy. I was in awe of the beautiful architecture every second I was there and would 100% recommend everyone to visit. Also, the food was 10/10. For Asia, obviously Korea! I go to Korea every other year to visit family and friends and it’s probably my ultimate favorite travel destination. The food, culture, and people are all amazing and I never get tired of it. I’m missing it now just thinking about it. 🙂
Q: What are your travel essentials?
SA: Currently – Face masks, leather jacket, and resistant bands. Face masks are a must for me as my skin tends to suffer from the change in climates and location. My leather jacket pairs up with any outfit I wear so I always make sure to pack it. Lastly, I always pack my resistant bands so I can work out daily on the go and anywhere.

SA: I love that KOODING houses so many of my favorite Korean clothing brands. This allows me to shop for any style and any trendy clothing piece I want. The site is also updated with new items regularly so I always have a huge selection to shop from.
